Automation integrator Motec slashes quotation times and increases sales by 54% with rapid adoption of QuickWorks

Motec (Motor Technology Limited) have been providing solutions to the servo and motion control industry for nearly 40 years. At the heart of the company is their technical know-how, which enables the business to design, assemble and supply optimal systems to meet their customers’ exacting specifications. Initially apprehensive about the potential cost of an MRP system, Motec found that QuickWorks was not only low cost and easy to use but also began delivering value from day one. This contributed to an impressive 54% growth over a 16-month period. Consequently, quoting has become simpler, efficiency has increased, and quality system compliance is now a cinch.

Andrew Fallows, Director at Motec, stated "Efficiency has improved along with a reduction in errors and, despite switching software platforms, we recently passed our quality audit with flying colours."

Andrew Fallows commented "With our previous system, the handling of quotes was problematic and it was altogether very inflexible, requiring us to use other software to track our orders and quality system requirements. What has become clear is that we need the tools in QuickWorks to help us avoid bottlenecks, missing off parts, overlooking items that need ordering, and planning the build / workload through the various departments/tasks. Furthermore, as we were able to get up and running instantly, QuickWorks was adding value from day one. It will, in essence, continue to change the way we do things for the better."

Having taken the plunge, Motec got up and running  very quickly. Although the objective was to reduce the administration time and errors around quotes, orders and materials, welcome by-products of implementing QuickWorks was the significant improvement in efficiency and the excellent on-tap UK based support.

Andrew Fallows added "The quote to order process is great and, despite QuickWorks being a relatively new product, we have had no major glitches. We are 18 months into using QuickWorks and haven’t looked back."
